Taskpin is an Australian product that gives independent home-service professionals (electricians, plumbers, cleaners, landscapers and more) one place to manage clients, schedule jobs, send quotes, capture on-site price changes, get paid and collect reviews. I joined as Senior iOS Developer and CTO, wearing both the engineering and the leadership hat.
What I did
Rebuilt the iOS app in SwiftUI. The product was living on a legacy codebase. I remade it from the ground up in SwiftUI with a modular structure, so new features land quickly and safely.
Redesigned it around Apple’s latest Human Interface Guidelines. Navigation, layout and interaction patterns now match what iOS users expect. The result was a clear step up in performance and in how the app feels to use.
Maps and real time. Job scheduling and tracking run on Mapbox and socket-based real-time communication.
Agentic development, done properly. I introduced AI agents into the engineering workflow, wrote custom roles and skills that encode our conventions, connected the tools agents need through MCP, and used Graphify to give them a map of the codebase, which measurably improved the quality of what they produce.
Internal tools and bots. I build the company’s own tools and bots: small, focused automations that take repetitive work off the team and connect our internal services to each other.
CTO: delivery and the team. I lead the engineering team with a focus on delivery cadence: prioritisation, removing blockers and a standard release path.
Product partnership. I work closely with the product team to turn user needs into executable technical specs. This is where my years as a Technical Product Owner pay off: I can sit in a product conversation and in an architecture review on the same afternoon, and keep the two consistent.
